Custom White Wash Diamond Ring Guard

Maddie got engaged on a beautiful evening on Hanalei Bay and wanted to create a wedding band that would perfectly support her existing engagement ring and have elements of Kauai because it meant so much to her. Her existing ring is a simple solitaire 3 ct princess cut diamond (the pictured engagement ring is a 2ct radiant cut we had just finished for another customer, to give perspective of the finished set) and Maddie wanted the wedding band to have elements of the ocean, or waves, or shells, or animals, or trees or really anything that would remind her of Kauai, and she left the design up to us. After talking for a little bit, we realized that we could do a traditional wedding band, but that a ring guard (essentially two wedding bands - one on either side of the engagement ring for the center ring to slot into) would be even more spectacular and allow us to achieve her dream design. Our design team went away and worked tirelessly on trying to mix together the hard lines of a princess cut diamond with the smooth wavy feeling associated with Kauai. Eventually we came up with a preliminary design that featured a smooth wave coming up over the center diamond and then using a speckled diamond design to simulate the appearance of white wash and bubbles that you would see underneath the wave or at its crest. At first the whitewash was a mixture of pearls and diamonds, which was stunning, but we later settled on just diamonds to keep everything as clean as possible. We 3d scanned her existing engagement ring to get a perfect composite and measurement file to make sure every little angle and corner would fit perfectly together with the ring guard. The result was one diamond wave of baguettes on either side of her center engagement ring, each crashing down with a white wash of round diamonds. The baguettes allowed the hard angles of the princess cut to mix with the wave design, and then the round diamonds finish it off the perfect unique look you'll never see anywhere else.
