Custom Swirling Diamond Ruby Wave Ring with Maile Vine

Many years ago, Laura had created an upgraded her engagement ring with a new larger stone, but she wasn't sure what to do with her original engagement ring diamond. It was reset into a small temporary setting, and she always wanted to honor that diamond and her husband's first choice, by creating a new ring just for that stone. The problem was that Laura had a very hawaiian classic taste and while she could make something that she would love, she ultimately wanted to create a ring, using her existing center diamond, that she would be able to pass down to her daughter. Laura's birthstone is the ruby, so she knew she wanted rubies, and her husband's birthstone is the diamond. What's amazing is that her daughter's birthstone is diamond while her son in law's birthstone is ruby. That means this would be the perfect ring bringing together both generations once it's passed on. For the design, Laura wanted the ring to flow, not to be rigid, and to also feature maile to represent the island of Kauai. She left the design aspects up to us and we certainly had a lot of back and forth to really nail all of the details. What we worked on together, and ended up with was a gorgeous 14k golden swirling wave ring design which features a truly breathtaking wave of red rubies on one side, and another wave of maile wrapping their ways around to her precious center diamond. From every angle, this ring is perfect. The center diamond is almost tension set, having only 2 prongs, but being hugged on the side by a maile vine. When she received her ring, Laura told me that not only is better than she could have imagined, but that she would wear this ring for the rest of her life, and it would soak up all of her mana so that when she passes it on to her daughter she would always be with her.
